Mawlch Gera

When I for the first time live saw an unbelievable fast smart black curly doggie crashing through an agility course, it was clear, that „hrvatski ovčar“ is coming to our family. Two years later, we were carrying home a sweet black puppy. I was really happy that our Gera´s mum is just the black curly „missile“ that fascinated me at the first sight- ICh & HrCh Drava Certisa „Cita“.

Gera is the very first Croatian Sheepdog in Slovakia. She is from my friends Alen and Sara Mareković´s kennel "Mawlch". Both her parents are true working dogs and have been Croatian team members at AWC for several times. Her great mum- ICh & HrCh Drava Certisa „Cita“ works with the sheep and competes in agility class A3- the top class.

 Gera is an active and always happy dog. She is true evidence that energy, motion and speed are typical for this exceptional working breed. She is always ready to work and whatever she does, she does it with all her heart (and usually also with all her voice). Gera inherited the herding instinct that makes of Croatian sheepdogs so unique working dogs. She is also a passionate retriever and swimmer. Gera really loves any kind of water she can jump into (lakers, rivers and the SEA). Sometimes I am joking that she is a Croatian Water dog. And well, she is also passionate barker.

Since we do not owe sheep, Gera ´s main "job" is agility. Trainings and the first competitions just confirmed her great power. We started our agility competition career in October 2005 and as early as January 2006 we started in A2 class for the first time and soon  in A3 class.

Gera passed Herding Instinct Test in the Czech republic in July 2005 and in autumn 2005 she passed HIT also in her home-town Zagreb (HR).  In addition to the fact that Gera is a great working dog she is also very nice, which is proved by her show success (despite the fact that we do not go to shows very often). She is Slovak Junior Champion in beauty. In June 2011 she passed BH exam in Belgrade and was one of the first five dogs with the certificate of socialized dog in Serbia.

Gera was a member of Slovak national team at 5 European Opens (2006, 2007, 2008,2009,2010) and at 3 Agility World Championships (2008-6th in team competition, 2009, 2010-5th in team competition). Our biggest success was 5th place at Individual Final run at EO 2010. In 2012 Gera was 3rd in overall at Croatian Sheepdog Working Championship!

Since 2011 we have been representing our current home - Serbia.
